Responsibilities of the role are:
• Administrative responsibilities:
Office management, including collecting and processing mail.
Manage FACT’s business reply mail permit.
Office supplies ordering and organizing.
Coordination with NSAC and with our shared office partners.
Assist with simple IT issues, such as purchasing new software.
Additional duties as needed.
• Fundraising support:
Open and process all donations that arrive by mail.
Deposit all checks remotely.
Prepare and mail routine donor gift acknowledgments.
Work with FACT’s Development and Communications Coordinator to assist with FACT’s donor database system, DonorDock, to ensure that donor records are consistently updated and accurate.
Maintain donor confidentiality and privacy.
Assist in donor-related mailings as needed.
• Financial support:
Receive invoices by mail and organize them properly.
Organize receipts and collaborate with external bookkeeper as needed.
Manage FACT’s online filing system, including invoices and relevant expense materials, and financial records in accordance with annual audit needs.
Organize electronic files annually.

Position Details:
Starting Salary: $24/hour with limited benefits
10 hours per week, hybrid

Job Description: Food Animal Concerns Trust (FACT) is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who believes in FACT’s mission to serve as an administrative assistant in FACT’s new shared office space in Washington, DC.
About FACT: We are a national nonprofit organization that works to ensure that all food producing animals are raised in a humane and healthy manner. We accomplish this by supporting humane farmers through our humane farming program, promoting policies that make foods from animals safe and healthy to eat through our safe and healthy food program, and generally helping consumers make informed food choices.
About the Role: This is a new position that focuses on organizing and managing FACT’s office in Washington, DC, and coordinating FACT’s administrative needs, from donations to invoices. This person will work initially from the FACT office. There may be additional hours needed seasonally, especially during the holiday season and our end of year campaign.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite
Comfortable working with additional online programs such as Google Drive, Zoom, CRMs such as DonorDock, etc.
Attention to detail.
Strong organization and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work efficiently, independently, and remotely.
Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and think on your feet.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A positive attitude and a willingness to work within a collaborative group.
