Help Us Recover Lost Funding for Humane Farming!

We need your help to raise $40,000 to continue a vital program for female farmers that was abruptly cut by federal budget changes.

Caer Luna Farm, a 2025 Fund-a-Farmer grant recipient.

Since 2012, FACT’s Humane Farming Program has improved the lives of more than 47 million farm animals by partnering with independent farmers to adopt and sustain humane practices. But this spring, sweeping federal budget cuts are threatening the programs farmers depend on—from conservation support to local food initiatives.

FACT received the unfortunate and unnecessary news a few weeks ago that a wonderful project that we had been working on with NCAT (National Center for Appropriate Technology) was abruptly canceled three-quarters of the way through with no explanation. Women, Livestock and the Land is a program for underserved female farmers in the Gulf Coast, building a path for women to start livestock operations and feed their communities. No one will benefit from this broken contract, not the women who are committed to feeding their community, not the staff who are passionate about humane farming, and not the public who rely on local pasture-based farmers to provide them with excellent quality food that nourishes.

We are committed to making sure this work continues.

FACT relies almost entirely on donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations. While we remain strong, we are now facing a $40,000 funding gap left by this canceled contract. With your help, we can bridge that gap and ensure that female farmers get the support they need to succeed. Please consider making a gift today to keep this important program alive:

Thank you for standing with us, our farmers, and the animals they care for. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at 773-525-4952 or hrhodes@foodanimalconcerns.org. We are grateful for your continued support.
