Chris Muse
Chris Muse is a farmer, educator, and community advocate who co-founded Muse 3 Farm in Greensburg, Louisiana, with his three brothers, returning to their family homestead after 32 years at IBM in Atlanta. The 200-acre operation raises grass-fed beef, lamb, and pasture-raised poultry using regenerative, rotational grazing practices. Chris joined FACT's board in 2024, bringing a small, pasture-based farmer's perspective. He is the Southeast Regional Lead of the FACE Ag Network (Farmers for Animals, Communities, and the Environment), a coalition of independent, pasture-based farmers advocating for Federal policies that supports humane, resilient agriculture in place of industrial consolidation.
Chris's work centers on strengthening Black farming communities in Louisiana. Before 2019, no Black farmers in St. Helena Parish held private product labels; through technical assistance on soil health, conservation programs, and USDA/NRCS navigation, Chris and his brothers have helped local Black farmers secure their own approved labels, opening markets previously out of reach. He describes this as building economic resilience — not just growing food, but creating opportunity for farmers who've historically lacked access.
Muse 3 Farm also carries a strong youth education mission, hosting school tours and field days that reached more than 1,400 children in a single year, and Chris has advocated for increasing locally produced food in Louisiana schools. In short: a former IBM professional turned farmer, policy advocate, and educator whose work links regenerative agriculture, racial equity in farming, and community-based food access.
