Katie Meade

Mentorship Program Organizer & Humane Farming Program Associate

Katie brings the hands-on experience of farming with animals of all kinds—from chicks to dairy cows, goats to pigs—raised on pasture across the scenic Applegate Valley of Oregon and the high desert of New Mexico. While she is not currently farming full-time, she remains deeply committed to supporting farmers nationwide in reaching their goals and improving the lives of the animals in their care.

Before joining FACT’s Humane Farming team in 2023, Katie coordinated a doula mentorship program, honing the care, communication, and relationship skills that she now brings to her work with farmers and mentees. Outside of work, she enjoys reading philosophy, ethics, and texts that expand perspectives on the human experience and relationships, as well as hiking, and exploring the outdoors.

Katie approaches both farming and mentorship with curiosity and compassion, combining the grit of hands-on animal care with the finesse to nurture meaningful personal and professional relationships.
