The Conservation Fund's Farms Fund program helps the next generation of farmers access land by purchasing farmland and making it available at an affordable price for farmers ready to build their future on the land. By reducing the initial financial barriers of land access, the Farms Fund gives beginning and expanding farmers the opportunity to own and steward farmland that might otherwise be out of the reach of ownership for their business. Supporting farmland transitions ensures farmers can continue producing food, caring for the land, and strengthening the rural communities that depend on agriculture.
